Here is the slick bonus I kept mentioning in The Tip Tuesday’s Abandoned Cart Post.
You can also see this in the video I made showing you how to do this step by step. (Hint: the bonus material is at the end of the video)
Once you have your abandoned cart email set up with emails in place (Learn how to write them here), Exit logic in and everything is done, here is a little trick I like to deploy in order to balance human touch with the automation, deliver outstanding customer service, and close more sales that were potentially lost opportunities.
(You will need to have your Google account integrated with ActiveCampaign to do this.)
After your goal and tags are removed, you’ll need to add an “If/Else Statement” to split the automation. To do this simply click the little plus button below your remove tag step and under “Conditions and Workflow” select if/else statement. Here you’re going to choose “has not visited” and enter your thank-you page URL. Then, (this is where the custom field Abandoned Cart Count comes in), add another condition “AND”, “Abandoned Cart Count”, “Is equal to or greater than”, “5”. (You can choose a different number if you’d like.)
What this does, is split your contacts that have abandoned their cart 5 or more times down the “Yes” path. This allows you to then add another step to record these contacts on a Google sheet.
To do this, select the plus button below the “Yes” path and add a step under “CX APPs”, select “add row to google sheet”. You will follow the prompts to map how this information will be added to the sheet. I usually go with Name, Email, Abandoned cart count and phone number along with any other pertinent info you’ve collected on that contact.
Then you can add an “End Automation” step on the “Yes” path as well as the “No” path.
Now, you may be asking “Ok? What was the point of that Will?”
Great Question! This nifty little trick can be used in countless ways with ActiveCampaign. In this example this gives you the business owner the ability to look in one place and see very hot leads that may have an objection. With this Google sheet, you or one of your sales team can reach out with a personalized email (not automated), to…
- Learn about your hottest leads objections are (which can be invaluable information in itself)
- Build that human relationship and earn their trust.
- Deliver an unprecedented customer experience….who else do you know that does this?
- Hopefully, nurture that lead to overcoming the objection and close another sale.
This tactic, though typically overlooked, can be a game changer when it comes to capitalizing on otherwise lost opportunities and increasing revenue. You or your sales team can then record those objections for future improvement, manually tag that contact and even further their amazing customer experience with more automations.
