I know this is supposed to be a blog about automation, but sometimes we need to remember the “Why?” behind what we do. Automation just for the sake of automation doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. If you read my article about where to start with automating your business I explain the process and questions you should ask before automating anything. So if you haven’t read it yet, you can hop on over there now by clicking here. Regardless, once you have decided to start automating certain aspects of your business you need to think about the “Why?” behind that automation.
Ask yourself what the benefit of automating that process is and what problem it solves. In this case we are going to look at one of the most overlooked tactics in marketing. It is also one of the simplest. Keep your name in front of your customer.
The subtle psychological influence of someone seeing your brand everywhere they look can’t be underestimated.

One of my favorite examples of this comes from the 2015 movie “Focus” starring Will Smith. The basic premise is that he and his team unknowingly put a number in front of his target all day in inconspicuous places. From numbers on an elevator to advertisements on the side of a passing bus. Then, when it comes time for the big bet he seemingly predicts the number his target will choose from an entirely packed football stadium. The point is that by keeping that one number front and center the targets focus was unknowingly drawn to that number.
So how does this explain the “Why?” behind automation? Bear with me, I’m getting there I promise. So, to complete this marketing tactic you now know that you must keep your name in front of your potential customers. How you do this is the problem. This is where the “Why?” comes in. Who has time to post your brand on a consistent basis on 5 or more social media sites, send emails out on your customers birthday’s, holidays, and their company “anniversary” date? Who has time to do all this, on top of periodic newsletters to build your brand and have your brand advertisements show up through SEO? This is your why. You have two options. You can hire people to manually do all these tasks, or you can save time and headache and automate the majority of it so that you can publish content in one place, and it automatically disperses to all your chosen social media platforms. Automate your advertisements so that you can post to one media platform and that trigger ads on all chosen media platforms.
The moral of the story is you need to consistently be in front of your customers eyes. Front and Center in their mind and your brand will become immediately recognizable and associated with a solution when needed. Automation is just a tool to help you accomplish this simple yet intimidating task. If you want more relevant tips on automation sign up for our newsletter here.
